"The Specialty Subaqua Noma Reserve is one of the most innovative case designs ever made. I bought my first in Silbertone with a black dial, and the Swiss ETA 7750. At the time it was the ONLY watch distinguished as a Reserve Timepiece.
The presentation was the finest I have ever seen. Imagine waiting for this watch to arrive, and when it does you open the outer cardboard box , to find a beautifully crafted Rosewood box with Reserve engraved across the top. Of course it was incredible, but when I opened the box, and saw this shining gem of the watch world under a dome of glass; I almost fell out of my chair. Invicta knew how to do a presentation in those days.
The watch itself is phenomenal, powered by the ETA 7750, it was the most incredible watch I had ever seen. The cutouts of the lugs to show the actual case was mind-blowing. The dial is fairly simple, and so easy to read day or night. Even today, if I had to pick one watch out of my collection of 150 watches, I would take the SPECIALTY RESERVE in a heartbeat.
No other company can come close to the precise engineering of this watch. It is definitively masculine, with a nice size dial, it has room for whatever complications one could want on a grail watch. Unfortunately, the greatness of the watch has been over come by Invicta making versions that are cheaper and cheaper. It is so unfair to those who are collectors, because Invicta's do not hold their value because of what Invicta does with its top watch designs. So, as a collector, you won't see Invicta's going up in price over the years. To the contrary, they lose their value. Why buy this watch for what I paid for it, when anyone can buy a cheap version for $200-$300 bucks?
It is my position to be objective about the watch I am reviewing. This watch is a game changer. It has a beautifully engineered design, and with the Swiss ETA movement; it is priced very fairly. I might add it is considerably less expensive than when I purchased mine.
The Specialty Reserve deserves to stand on the podium with the Zeus Bolt and the Venom. I believe the SANS V may be the forth in that group of expertly engineered timepieces. Each has its own character, but all are incredible watches at prices three to four times less than anything you could possibly find that would be comparable to any of them.
So why is one star missing? I am on a crusade. For watches in the hi-end range, they all should have Sapphire crystals, not a cheap imitation of a mineral crystal called flame fusion. If flame fusion was better than Sapphire; every fine watch maker would be using it on their timepieces. They are not! They know what customers want in a fine timepiece. They take great pride in the watches they build. Check them out and you will see, not one uses mineral crystals on their fine watches. Invicta should follow their lead and get back on track to the quality they put in their watches when the company began it's operations again. When you sell watches in such high volume, Invicta is looking more at their bottom line than the way a prime timepiece should be finished off. Put Sapphire Crystals back on your watches, Eyal. Keep the mineral crystals for your low end watches; but with watches over $1,000+; only Sapphire will do.
Not to get off the track, I own the watch above, and it never stops running keeping near perfect time. For some, this watch will become their Grail Watch. For others, it will be the finest sport watch, and a watch that can be worn every day of the week. It can take the punishment and then some. It's light on the wrist, and so comfortable to wear. Enjoy this gorgeous watch. It will be with you working every day, as long as you want it to be. And I will close with this; with a watch of this caliber, you never grow tired looking at it. Every time you take a look, you will find another amazing engineering feat you never noticed before. This is one AWESOME timepiece!"

"This is an amazing watch the SW500 automatic is just an amazing engine almost as good or just as good as the 7750. Love the case and cradle designe. This ie a heavy watch but wears very nicely keeps great time very accurate when kept wound and thats why they offer the winder with the watch and by its self the winder is about 300.00. I also love that it is a reserve level watch,as the 7750 becomes harder to obtain the SW500 may be the way to go. Invicta keep these amazing time peaces coming and keep the high end movements coming thanks from a dedicated collector I now have 32 watches in my collection and I started in Dec. of 2012 thanks"

"I am admittedly a big fan of this case and cradle design, and when an automatic reserve was offered in it, I snapped it right up. Handsome watch that stands out in business or business casual dress, the case and cradle design starts a conversation everytime I wear it. Strongly recommend this watch - I have many watches, but I wear this one at least once a week!"
