"ShopNBC reduced the price and then offered free shipping with the ShopNBC card. I've been an advocate of this technology for five plus years. There's a competitive brand whose national HQ's is not far from where I live. They have been asking about 3.5x what I paid for this one.
Agreed, the fan might be quieter. Lets hope our remarks get back to the manufacturer. I look at bang for the buck and value. I also have the brand that made this technology famous. This heater works just as well.

"This works great for me. I spend more time in my living room in the evening and for some reason the evenings are cooler in the room I turn on and warmth I feel. great product. Much cheaper price than other heaters using the same technoligy."

"We liked this heater so much we came back for a third. The LifeSmart 1500W Quartz Infrared Portable Oak Finish Cabinet Heater is quiet, efficient and really puts out the heat. We have a rather large home in the Pacific North West and it just does not make sense to heat the whole house with our gas furnace when the family is usually concentrated in the great room. We have one heater there in an area about 1200 square feet and it keeps us quite comfortable. The other two heaters are in the bedrooms. The timer feature is great allowing us to wake up to a nice cozy gathering area. You can't go wrong with these great heaters."

"I have had this heater for about four months. Everything is working well as of this time. The reason I purchased it, was to heat a garage room that was quite chilly. It worked out very well until temps dropped dramatically in the garage (no insulation in there). We now use it in a twelve by twelve foot master bedroom, when housemates want various temps and it keeps us cozy on colder desert nights. It was tested when purchased in a fairly large living room, 15' by 15' approx, with pretty high vaulted ceilings. Amazingly, this little wooden heater heated the room efficiently and very quickly. I was actually a bit shocked how well it worked. Would absolutely buy another, hoping the magic lasts.

"THIS HEATER IS AS EASY AS 123 TO USE. THERE WAS NOTHING TO DO BUT PUT BATTERIES IN REMOTE. IT WAS FULLY PUT TOGETHER. TWO MINUTES OF READING INSTRUTIONS AND MY FAMILY WAS USING IT. WOOD CASE LOOKS GREAT IN FAMILY ROOM, DOESNT LOOK FAKE LIKE THOSE PLASTICS ONES."

"We received this heater in October. I bought it for my husband who has health issues. Our family room is an addition and is usually 4-5 degrees colder than the other part of the house. This has been perfect to keep the house at a more even temperature. Operates well and haven't noticed any great increase in the electric bill."

"I heat with wood completely however my days are longer hours now and it is quite cooled off when I come home. This is set to turn on two hrs before I get home. I have a open concept smaller home and it keeps the chill away. I am very pleased it has been very helpful this winter with the very cold wind chills and snow. I bought one for my son and wife, they also love theirs. Understand, it is not a main source of heat it is meant to help and we love it!"

"Heats my 3 season porch nicely even when it's 20 degrees outside. I have used it in my vaulted living room and it does heat this room as well. Money well spent! The electric bill has gone up however only by about $10 and I have used the heater for several hours at a time several days during the week."

"I was so excited when I received the heater based on all of the reviews. But I started the heater and all it did was blow out lukewarm air. I even raised the degrees and still the same results. I'm not happy with the heater and calling today to send it back. I'm a very disappointed customer!!! :-("
