"Somehow this necklace just felt skimpy. Nice design if it had been just costume jewelry from a store counter, but not for this price. And the gold looks fake, sorry. Will be returning it. I need to stop buying any of these "vermeil" items, they just never measure up."

"This necklace looks like genuine, solid, 14k gold! It is hard to find a rope necklace of this quality anywhere. The 14k gold overlay is right on and the width is perfect. The weight is also just right, not to lightweight. I love the large lobster claw clasp and this is an easy necklace to clasp for those who usually have a hard time with that. The look of this necklace around the neck far surpasses even some gold. I have an Italian gold 14k rope, not nearly this weight but thick, but it doesn't compare to the shine and weight of this piece. I highly recommend this necklace to men as well as women. I look forward to more unisex pieces for men from Portofino. The price of this necklace is a plus also!! Thanks Shop NBC!"
